चरित्र पर कर्म का प्रभाव (Karma in its effect on character) -:
कर्म संस्कृत शब्द “कृ” से आया है. इसका मतलब होता है “करना”. कर्म का मतलब है “हर एक्शन का असर या परिणाम”. योग में कर्म का मतलब होता है “ काम (work)”.
एक इंसान का कैरेक्टर यानी चरित्र उसके सभी एक्सपीरियंस को मिला कर बनता है। चाहे व वो लोग हमेशा किसी ख़ास मकसद के लिए ही कुछ कर्म करते हैं।
लेकिन सबसे महान और नेक कर्म होता है बस काम करना।
सिर्फ़ 5 मिनट के लिए बिना किसी सेल्फिश मकसद के काम करके देखिये। ये भी आपको बहुत मुश्किल लगेगा।
बदले में कुछ मिलने की आशा किये बिना या बिना किसी निजी स्वार्थ के ज्यादा से ज्यादा काम करने की कोशिश कीजिये। एक महान इंसान बहुत सारे अच्छे काम करता चला जाता है मानो वो अच्छे कर्मों का बीज बो रहा हो। वो हर रोज़ उसकी देखभाल करता है लेकिन घंटों उसके पास बैठ कर उसके बढ़ने और उसके फलों को हासिल करने की इच्छा नहीं करता। वो बस अपने काम में लगा रहता है ।
अगर आप किसी की मदद करना चाहते हैं तो ये मत सोचिये कि उस इंसान का क्या रिएक्शन होगा। उसके धन्यवाद देने का इंतज़ार मत कीजिये या ये आशा मत कीजिये कि वो भी इसके बदले में आपके लिए कुछ देगा ।

प्रत्येक अपने स्थान पर महान है (Each is great in his own place) -:
हर एक इंसान का खुद के जीवन में अपना अलग रोल और आइडील्स यानी आदर्श होते हैं। जो रोल आपको मिला है उसे अच्छी तरह से पूरा करने की कोशिश कीजिये। किसी और की तरह बनने की कोशिश मत कीजिये। आप अपने दिए गए रोल को पूरे मन से अच्छी तरह निभा कर खुद को सच के और करीब ले जाते हैं ।
एक सन्यासी को दुनिया पूरी तरह त्याग देना चाहिए। उसे परिवार या धन दौलत के बारे में नहीं सोचना चाहिए। उसकी ड्यूटी है भगवान् की पूजा करना, उनकी सेवा करना और उनके बारे में और भी जानने की कोशिश करना। आप उस घर के बड़े और सन्यासी को एक दूसरे का रोल अदा करने नहीं कह सकते। उन्हें अपनी अपनी ज़िम्मेदारी निभानी होगी। अपना रोल ठीक से अदा करना ही हमें महान बनाता है।

काम का रहस्य (The Secret of Work) -:
अपने कर्म के बदले में कुछ मिलने की आशा मत रखिये। यही कर्म करने का सीक्रेट है। इसी सोच को अपनाकर आप अपने करियर में या बिज़नेस में सक्सेसफुल हो सकते हैं। बस अपने काम से प्यार कीजिये। आप जो करते हैं उसे प्यार से कीजिये ।
एक गुलाम जो जंजीरों में बंधा होता है उसे काम करने के लिए अपने पैरों को घसीटना पड़ता है। वो जो भी काम करता है ठीक से नहीं करता क्योंकि उसे उस काम को करने के लिए मजबूर किया जाता है। इसलिए गुलाम नहीं बल्कि एक मालिक की तरह काम कीजिये। बस अपना बेस्ट कीजिये और उस काम को ख़ुशी से कीजिये। जो काम प्यार से किया जाता है वो असली सोना होता है।

कर्तव्य क्या है (What is Duty) -:
अपने काम को पूजा की तरह ट्रीट करना चाहिए। उस पर पूरा ध्यान लगाना चाहिए। बस अपना काम करते रहिये, किसी और चीज़ के बारे में मत सोचिये। उस काम को करने से मिलने वाले फल के बारे में मत सोचिये। मुश्किलों के बारे में या उसके रिजल्ट के बारे में भी मत सोचिये । जो वर्कर अपने काम के रिजल्ट के बारे में सोचता है, जिसे फल से ज्यादा लगाव होता है वो अपनी ड्यूटी के लिए हमेशा शिकायत ही करता रहता है। वो कभी खुश नहीं होता क्योंकि उसे तो बस एक पहचान की तलाश रहती है।
लेकिन जिन्हें रिजल्ट से लगाव नहीं होता , उनके लिए उनका काम ही ख़ुशी का कारण बन जाता है. अपने दिए गए ड्यूटी को वो ख़ुशी ख़ुशी स्वीकार करता है और उसे पूरे दिल से निभाता है। वो शान्ति और सुकून से जीता है क्योंकि उसने अपनी ड्यूटी को गले लागाया और पूरी तरह निभाया ।

हम खुद की मदद करते हैं, दुनिया की नहीं (We Help Ourselves, Not the World) -:
जिस दुनिया में हम रहते हैं वो बिलकुल कुत्ते की पूँछ जैसी है, टेढ़ी। न जाने कितने महान लोगों ने इसे सीधा करने की कोशिश की है। लेकिन जब वो अपनी पकड़ ढीली कर देते हैं तो ये दुनिया फिर से पूँछ की तरह टेढ़ी हो जाती है ।
इसलिए सबसे अच्छा होता है इस दुनिया के पाप, बुरे कर्मों और गलतियों का असर खुद पर नहीं होने देना। आप उसे कण्ट्रोल नहीं कर सकते तो बस उसे रहने दीजिये। इसके बजाय उन चीज़ों पर ध्यान दीजिये जिन्हें आप कण्ट्रोल कर सकते हैं। अपने काम को और खुद को पहले से भी बेहतर बनाने पर ध्यान दीजिये।
प्यार करना, शांत रहना और सही का साथ देना जैसी आदतों को अपनाने की कोशिश कीजिये। जितना हो सके उतने ज्यादा लोगों की सेवा कीजिये। ये दुनिया तभी भी टेढ़ी की टेढ़ी ही रहेगी लेकिन खुद को सीधा करना भी एक बहुत महान कर्म है ।

You cannot ask the elder and the monks of that house to play each other's roles. They have to fulfill their respective responsibilities. Paying your role properly is what makes us great.

A slave who is tied in chains has to drag his feet to work. He does not do whatever works properly because he is forced to do that work. So act like a boss, not a slave. Just do your best and do that work happily. The work that is done with love is real gold.

What is Duty -:
Your work should be treated like worship. Full attention should be paid to that. Just keep doing your work, don't think about anything else. Do not think about the fruits of doing that work. Do not think about the difficulties or even its result. The worker who thinks about the result of his work, who is more attached to the fruit, always complains about his duty. He is never happy because he is just looking for an identity.
But for those who are not attached to the result, their work becomes the cause of happiness. He happily accepts his given duty and plays it wholeheartedly. He lives peacefully and comfortably as he embraces and fulfills his duties.

The world we live in is exactly like a dog's tail, crooked. Don't know how many great people have tried to make it straight. But when they loosen their grip, this world again becomes crooked like a tail.
Therefore, it is best not to let the sins of this world, bad deeds and mistakes affect you. If you can't control it, just let it be. Instead, concentrate on the things that you can control. Focus on improving your work and yourself.
Try to adopt habits like loving, keeping calm and supporting the right. Serve as many people as you can. This world will still remain crooked, but straightening itself is also a great deed.
